Doors Open Toronto: Time to Discover the Secrets and Spirits Behind the Doors of Our City!

Greetings readers!

The 15th annual Doors Open Toronto presented by Great Gulf is coming back next weekend! The theme for this year is Secrets and Spirits… Exploring the Mysteries Behind the Doors. Sounds spooky right?

Not only you can visit over 150 buildings across Toronto to uncover the mysteries, there are also places where scary stories will be told! In addition to that, the University of Toronto has sponsored walking tours to guide visitors around our mysterious city!

Spoiler: There are many areas that are normally off-limit to the public that are going to be opened up just for the weekend! Ooooooh!

The best part is that all of the events are FREE!

Here’s the poster from the City of Toronto’s website:

The event takes place on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th. More information can be found on the City of Toronto’s site at toronto.ca/doorsopen.

I’m very looking forward to the University of Toronto’s walking tour! I’m not sure if I would be scared to go school after learning about the mysteries of the school… I have to go to school on the day following the tour so… *grabs pillow*

Get ready guys! The secrets and spirits will be flying around the city very soon, so look out!

Science Rendezvous is coming to UofT on May 10th

Science Rendezvous is a free science festival hosted simultaneously by over 30 universities and institutions across Canada.  This year’s event hosted at the U of T St. George Campus will be busting common science myths and misconceptions in over 30 disciplines ranging from social, physical and biological sciences to engineering and medicine!

Since its inception, Science Rendezvous has strived to showcase Canadian scientific research in an accessible manner, with the ultimate goal of moulding our youth’s interest in science, engineering, and technology.   Visitors of all ages will have a chance to meet with high-profile researchers, conduct experiments, and above all, have fun while experiencing science in a whole new way.

For a sneak peak of some of the interesting demonstration pavilions you’ll find at this year’s Science Rendezvous, check out the videos on our YouTube Channel that showcase some great examples of organizations, experiments, and activities that integrate science, engineering, technology and human ingenuity.

The year’s event will also feature a fun and interactive Science Chase, in which participants will race against the clock to complete scientific challenges across the St. George Campus and solve a scientific mystery.  Check out a preview of this year’s Science Chase here.
