The Shitty Film & Love and Sex Movie Contests
February 13th, 2008 by JP In case you didn’t know (hey, that’s why we’re here, blogging, at your service), The University of Toronto Film Festival is coming up in about a month’s time. In the meanwhile, there are two special contests going on. One of them involves SEX.
1. LOVE AND SEX MOVIE CONTEST Each team is assigned a unique title, prop and line of dialogue to be used in the movie. All movies must address the themes of love and/or sex. Contest begins February 15. Deadline for final movie is February 28. The best entries will be screened at the U of T Film Festival, March 12-15. Prizes will be awarded. Complete details at www.uoftfilmfest.ca. Apply alone or with a team. Deadline to enter: February 14, 5pm.
Entry fee: $20 per team. Tickets available from www.uofttix.ca (or so they say… I can’t seem to find them though)
2. THE SHITTY FILM CONTEST The UofT Film Festival is looking for submissions from artists that can produce consciously bad movies 1 minute or under. They want you to explore all aspects of moviemaking from format to content in the worst possible way. Bad dialogue, cheesy action, pixilated cellphone footage? They want it all! No time? How long does it take? The worst of the worst will be shown at the UofT Film Festival March 12-15. Shitty prizes awarded! They are accepting submissions until February 15, 2008 at 5pm
Ok, so maybe we should have given you a little more notice for the deadlines, but come on, we are only mortal, last minute creatures of habit. Have a good day y’all.
