BLINDERS: The truth behind the tradition
June 12th, 2008 by LoriBLINDERS is a controversial documentary film that exposes the truth behind the tradition of the infamous NYC horse-drawn carriage industry.
Through original footage taken with hidden cameras and interviews with carriage drivers, veterinarians, accident witnesses, animal rights activists, politicians, tourists, residents who live near the horses and people who have rescued carriage horses from slaughter, ‘Blinders’ takes viewers behind the scenes to expose the truth behind the tradition.
The International Wildlife Film Festival awarded BLINDERS best film in the “Point of View” category, and it has received rave reviews from the animal advocacy community. Wonderful to see that this new documentary is being screened in Toronto. I saw it last weekend and it is going to have a tremendous impact, particularly on people who simply are not aware of the grim lives these horses lead. No one will ever look at NYC’s carriage horses in the same way after watching this film by Donny Moss. I urge everyone to see “Blinders.”

Looking forward to seeing this! Toronto banned HDCs and New York should do the same. It is disturbing to think that the NYC government allows such an inhumane industry to operate.
