Useful Links to U of T Resources Part 2: Around campus

September 9th, 2008 by Lori

The U of T campus is pretty huge and it’s easy to get lost. There are always tons of things going on, too, that you might have a hard time finding info about.

This section of links will help you get in the know, find your way around, and more.

Arts and Science Exam Collection
This site has a repository of old exams (without the solutions, unfortunately) to help you study for yours.

Toronto University Students Book Exchange
I’ve found this to be the best place to buy and sell used books. You can compare prices and get in contact with people from other campuses.

Toronto Student LiveJournal Community
Need to get advice from or ask other students where to find things on campus? Want to share with others the misery of being overworked and sleep-deprived? This community is a great place to do that.

U of T Bookstore
Check out what books you need for your courses and order them online ahead of time so you don’t have to wade through crowds of people at the store.

University of Toronto News
Good for checking the status of the campus on snow days and whether or not there will be a strike.

Campus Maps
This site has several types of maps of all three campuses, including one of wireless hot spots and parking spots. No need to get lost again!

U of T food and beverage services
The U of T campus is pretty huge and when you’re hungry, you probably want to conserve energy and travel as little as possible to get food. This site has an interactive map of places to get food on campus, so you can look for the closest one to you. It also contains information about upcoming food-related events, including cheap meals!

University of Toronto Libraries
Manage your library loans, search for material, search for scientific papers for free (which you
normally have to pay for), check library hours, find out what computing/printing/photocopying/scanning services are available, and more.

UTSU
Find out when and how to opt out from your Health and Dental plan, metropass sale dates and locations, what’s going on on campus, and more.

Student Life Programs and Services
This site just contains a smörgåsbord of information for students of all types on any campus, from events on campus to workshops that will help get your university career on track.

International Student Centre
Being a student in a foreign place can be an overwhelming experience. This site will help you get info about work permits, study permits, getting a SIN, VISAS, driving in Ontario, and other important stuff. It also has fun social event listings targeted toward international students, like movie nights and dinners.
