Cabbagetown Festival
September 11th, 2009 by JessOne of my favourite Torontonian festivals in the fall has to be the one held in Cabbagetown every September. Once an Irish slum, the neighbourhood has become a place with posh Victorian houses and a lovely place to take a walk.
This week, there’s the added bonus of the festival where artisans come to Riverdale Park (the section right beyond the farm) to sell their wares and where people in the neighbourhood hold massive yard sales with awesome deals and interesting items. (My friend once bought a hilarious book entitled, Real Men don’t Eat Quiche once…) Stores in Cabbagetown will also bring out their wares on Parliament St., along with some great food, nifty gifts and don’t forget the yearly parade!
So, in summary:
What: 33rd Annual Cabbagetown Festival
Where: Riverdale Park and Farm, Parliament St. from Wellesley south to Gerrard in Toronto’s east end and at Carlton and Parliament
When: September 11th at 7PM – September 13th at 8PM. (Best day for yard sales is Saturday.)
