Vegetarian 101: Moving Towards a Heart Healthy Diet

March 1st, 2007 by JP

Vegetarian 101I was all set to write a post about The Real Dirt on Food all day conference on March 17th at Hart House, but sadly, the tickets on UofTtix are already sold out! Well, looks like we’ve got a lot of people interested in issues on food sustainability. Either that, or the damn scalpers jumped on this one (I really hope not though, because scalping tickets for a conference on food sustainability just seems very very wrong).

So instead I have something else green for you: Vegetarian 101, a series of informative talks organized by the Toronto Vegetarian Association on being vegetarian:

Saturday March 3 – Introduction to vegetarian nutrition.
Saturday March 17 – Protein, carbohydrates and fats.
Saturday March 31 – Adopting healthy lifestyle habits

Where: Room 200 in Northern District Library (40 Orchard View Blvd. west side of Yonge and just north of Eglinton)
Details: Each talk runs from 3-4pm. Admission is free and no reservation is necessary. Space is limited so arrive early to ensure you get a seat! You can find more details on their website.
