oUTreach 2007 - U of T reaches out to the community

If you were on campus during summer session final exam period, you probably noticed chalked up sidewalks with the word

Okay, that’s not a sidewalk, but it’s visible!

At the St. George Campus on the Saturday after Orientation/Frosh/F!rosh/Welcome Week, this year’s oUTreach event promises to be huge - over 2000 students, faculty, and staff are expected to participate in this community engagement event.

This day-long opportunity for community-building underscores the importance the University attaches to community service, allows participants the exposure to wide varieties of service opportunities available throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and brings together the University of Toronto community and the community agencies with whom we work.

If you want to fill your Saturday with an activity to do, meet new people, network with community agencies, or want to feel that warm fuzzy feeling when you contribute to your community (you may never feel it again when you’re bogged down with readings over the next few months!), then sign up for oUTreach today!

When: Saturday, September 8th. Sign-in at 9AM. Volunteering activities run until ~4PM.
Where: Participants will meet their team leaders at Varsity Centre. Teams will be travelling to various agencies throughout the GTA.
Details: Sign up as a participant here! Participants get a free shirt, free lunch (choose your own lunch), and hopefully some insight about their role as a contributor to positive social change.
