Those who are not in the faculty of engineering may not be well acquainted with the Ye Olde tradition of Godiva Week, its rich history and its obscure origins. Actually, I’m in Engineering, and I also have no clue. But what I do know is that Godiva week is the crazy, fun, and bizarrely amusing back-to-school-week for Engineering students.
There’s music, beer, calculus, a chariot race, kegs of beer, a female pageant dubbed Godiva’s Crown where clever engineering lasses compete on such feats of engineering as screwing and nailing (screws and nails respectively), a male engineering beauty pageant (Mr. Blue and Gold), with a row of female judges, and another row of bribes infront of the respective judges, and a lot of beer, a charity car smash (yes, you can take a baseball bat to a car for charity!), more beer, poor grammar, run on sentences, and oh, did I mention beer?
Anyway, all the fun and games are detailed at the Godiva Week website. Click on the schedule to see what’s going on! I recommend watching the Mr. Blue and Gold pageant on Wednesday. Damn, us Engineering men are sexy.

Excuse me, but…
FEMALE ENGINEERING STUDENTS DO EXIST.
Shocking.

Hahaha, yeah, I know. I live with one.
I was just making a joke regarding the Mr. Blue and Gold competition which is basically a male pageant.
For those who want to see the charming and very capable Engineering women, check out the Godiva’s Crown competition.

My concept was more towards the whole idea of Godiva Week- it is quite (stereotypically) male oriented.
