Hart House $5 Lunch
January 18th, 2007 by JPI got together with some friends and attended the $5 lunch at Hart House today, organized by the Chemistry Student Union. The lunch was held in the Great Hall, from 11:30 am to 2 pm. For those of you who didn’t go, I must say, you missed out! The photo you see above is what you get for $5. (Actually, cropped out of the picture is a slice decadent chocolate fudge cake. You can see a hint of on at the top.) The fall-off-the-bone-tender roasted chicken was nicely complemented by a salad with a blue cheese and berry dressing. The chocolate fudge cake was a delight. There were also bulbing flasks of liquid nitrogen on display (to add to the chemistry theme I suppose) and an ipod nano raffle, just for kicks. So, if you missed this lunch, be sure to check out the next one. Read on for upcoming $5 lunches at Hart House.
Although it’s not listed on the Hart House website, Student Affairs’ event list shows the next $5 lunch to be on Wed. Jan 24, 2007, where you can get a taste of Ethiopian cuisine and culture.
The one after that is Wed. Jan 31, 2007, which you definitely shouldn’t miss. This $5 lunch is hosted the Japan Information Exchange Community, and they have a great program lined up. Starting at 12:00 noon, there will be a live band performing on stage, playing a range of modern Japanese and American music. At 1:00 pm, there will be martial arts performances by the U of T Kendo Club and the U of T Judo Club. Wow, lunch and show, all for $5! Be sure to attend, and bring your friends!

No, it’s not every week. It just happens that there are $5 lunches for the next 2 weeks. The Hart House website has information about when these lunches take place. Alternatively, you can just check for them here. We’ll list them on the Even Picks. =)
