The U of T Film Festival is holding a 54-hour movie contest and it’s FREE to participate. All the Hart House Film Board equipment has been set aside for this competition and it will be made available to contest participants on a first-come first-served basis.

Each team will be assigned a “film challenge”, consisting of a genre (e.g. comedy, suspense, horror), a title for their movie, a prop that must be used. Movies can be no longer than 5 minutes, including credits.

So can you really make a film in 54 hours? Well, these guys made this short horror film (shown above) in 101 hours as part of the 2007 Hart House Horror Film Festival’s short horror competition.

Deadline: The deadline to enter your team is noon June 8.
Details: To enter a team send an email to rick.palidwor [at] utoronto.ca with “Yes to 54 hour Movie contest” in the subject line. Read the detailed rules of the contest here.
